About us

Atelier 35 is a non profit art space currently run by an artist collective including Alice Gancevici, Larisa Crunțeanu and Xandra Popescu. We share a common interest in socially and politically engaged projects, peripheral practices, collaboration and education.

The concept of Atelier 35 dates back 1966, and is dedicated to experiment and young artists (number 35 suggests the conventional limit of youth). Through time, the concept took different forms ranging from Artists Union branch to non-commercial gallery, literary circle and creative camp.

Larisa Crunțeanu is a performer, visual artist and sound collector. She has a Master degree in video at National Arts University of Bucharest. Works with different media and is interested into power relationships in intimacy, body and identity.(larisacrunteanu.tumblr.com)

Alice Gancevici studied Photography and Video at the National Arts University of Bucharest. She works as an artist duo together with Remus Pușcariu and collaborates with Bucharest AiR, an artists residencies project encouraging international art production, research and cultural exchange in Romania.
